What will your opening hours be?

During the summer season Foxlake Dundee will be open 7 days a week and our normal opening hours will be from 9am to 9pm. In the spring and autumn we will be open 6 days a week and the winter season 2 days a week.

 

How do you know if the water is clean?

We monitor and test the water quality on a monthly basis. The results from the tests are displayed in and around our site. The water is tested to the EU bathing standards.

 

Do you employ local people?

We employ a variety of local people and students and have the long term aim to employ in excess of 20 full-time and part-time staff. We look for local people who have an interest in outdoor activities, the delivery of excellent customer service and that are passionate about working with people.

 

What kind of training do the staff get?

Staff will be trained on a variety on activities and will receive qualifications credited by British Waterski and Wakeboard. Staff will be trained to the highest standard to ensure a safe and fun day out for all!

 

How will foxlake dundee benefit the community?

We provide a quality outdoor environment, which caters for the whole community and encourages a healthy and active lifestyle for all who use it.
We also provide long-term training and employment opportunities for young people in Dundee. Foxlake Dundee provides sports development opportunities for young people to engage in alternative sports activities in a safe and welcoming environment diverting them away from anti-social behavior. We aim promote the benefits of the outdoor environment and providing a positive experience for young people.
Foxlake Dundee also be engages with a number of local schools and community groups to deliver social programmes which have been developed at our site and sister site at Dunbar in previous years.

 

Parking

For parking we recommend following signs for the Olympia multi-storey car park, off East Whale Lane and using the parking available there.
We also recommend using Public Transport and are only a 5-minute walk from Dundee bus station and a 10-minute walk from the train station.

 

Age/weight restrictions

For wakeboarding and Ringo Rides, participants must be at least 6 years+ and confident on the water. For the Aqua Park and Stand Up Paddleboarding participants must be at least 8 years + and confident on the water.  We do not have weight restrictions for our activities.

Parties

What is the best party combination?

The most popular party combination is our new and improved Aqua Park followed by the Ringo Rides. The Aqua Park session last for 50 hour in total and Ringo Rides are available in 15 minute increments.

 

Which ringo should I book for my party?

We have two different ringo sizes, 2 people (small – £25) and 4 person (large – £30) all sessions are 15 minutes long and fully instructed by qualified staff. The small ringo can have up to 6 kids in a session and the large ringo can have up to 10 kids in a session. The kids will swap on and off the ringo in the 15-minute session.

 

E.g. if you have a party of 4 and book the Large ringo they will stay on the ringo for the full 15 minutes, if you have 8 in your party they would each get 7.5 minutes on the ringo.

 

Is there a minimum or maximum group size?

There is no minimum group size for a party, the maximum number of people we can take depends on what you would like to do and availability. If would like more information on group sizes for a certain activity please get in touch!

 

What is the minimum age/ height requirements?

All participants must be 8 years old on the date if the party to participate in Aqua Park sessions or Stand Up Paddleboarding and 6 years old to take part in the Ringo/Wakeboarding.

 

Must parents take part in the party?

No. Parents must be present at sign-in and be on-site during the party, but parents do not need to take part in the session. All sessions are fully supervised by qualified instructors.

 

I don’t know final numbers – how many should I book for in the meantime?

We advise you book for the maximum number of participants to avoid disappointment if the session is full later when you try and add participants. We must know your FINAL NUMBERS 48 hours before your booking – we will otherwise have to charge you in full for the sessions and participants you have booked.

 

Preferably let us know 1 week before your booking, 48 hours is the ABSOLUTE LATEST we can amend a booking.

 

Must all parents of kids attending a party read and sign the terms and conditions?

No, if parents are happy for the party organiser to sign on their behalf of their kids. All kids must be signed for upon arrival. If you would like we will email you the terms and conditions so you can send to parents to read them before the party.

Ringo

What swimming ability is needed for kids and adults on the ringo?

Although it is possible to complete a ringo session without falling in the water it is not a given that you will stay on! Because of this the swimming ability necessary is the same as all other water activities – confidently swim 25 metres unaided.
